Baseball Tops New Mexico State in Series Opener

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Towson University baseball team faced New Mexico State on Friday night at Presley Askew Field in the first game of a three-game series.

How it Happened:

  • Brian Heckelman added to the Towson lead with a two-run home run in the top of the fifth.
  • In the bottom half, Campbell's single to third with runners on scored one. Rulli's two out single up the middle scored two more before he was thrown out at second base.
  • With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Sebastianelli hit a two-run double in the left-center gap to push the lead to 8-3.
  • The Aggies added two runs on two hits in the bottom of the seventh, cutting their deficit to three.
