TOWSON, Md. –
Jack Doumbia Jr.'s late game heroics secured a two-point win for the Towson Tigers (15-14, 7-9 CAA) over the Elon Phoenix (14-15, 6-10 CAA).
Doumbia Jr. scored a reverse layup coming towards the Towson bench to take the lead with 14 seconds left. After taking the lead, Doumbia Jr. ran past the Towson bench and flashed a smile.

- Tyler Coleman led the Tigers with 17 points.
- Tyler Tejada put up a career-high seven assists.
- Doumbia Jr. was one rebound away from a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- No team led by more than one score until 9:24 left in the first half when Towson took a 15-10 lead.
- That five point margin remained steady for the rest of the half with Towson entering the locker room up four.
- Elon started the second half on an 8-0 run to go up four early in the half. Towson responded with a 6-0 run of their own to take the lead back before an Elon 7-0 run ended the second half scoring spurts with Elon up five.
- The Phoenix were up 50-44 when the Tigers got hot. Three Doumbia Jr. free throws, a Coleman and-one followed by two more Coleman free throws and a Tejada layup composed a 10-0 run in just 135 seconds that gave Towson a four-point lead.
- Elon eventually tied it back up at 56 before Doumbia Jr. hit his game clincher.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pat Skerry earned win 600 across all college basketball experience and win 250 at Towson.
- Towson outscored Elon in every specialty stat going +5 in points off turnovers, +8 in points in the paint, +5 in second chance points, +7 in fast break points and +9 in bench points.
- Caleb Embeya put up his second double digit rebound game of the season, this one coming primarily from defensive rebounds.
