VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Towson University women's lacrosse team traveled to Pennsylvania on Monday. The Tigers fell (1-1) to the Wildcats (1-0) at Villanova Stadium.

• Hailey Waldron, Elise Smigiel and Hannah Lewis each scored two goals.
• Villanova recorded 22 shots on goal compared to Towson's nine.
• Jenna Cardeno tallied 10 saves for the Tigers, while Villanova's Makenzie Fisher finished with three. 

How it Happened vs. Villanova

• Villanova opened the contest with three unanswered goals. Towson responded when Hailey Waldron netted her first goal of the season to cut the deficit to two. Kathryn Monaco added her second goal of the quarter to give the Wildcats a 4-1 lead at the end of the first.
• The Wildcats found the back of the net twice in the second quarter to extend their advantage to five heading into halftime.
• Coming out of the break, Villanova's Leslie Iorio scored off an assist from Sophia Corretjer to push the lead to six. Towson answered with back-to-back goals from Elise Smigiel, both assisted by Luca DeMaio, to pull within four.
• Three minutes later, Hannah Lewis added another goal for the Tigers, also assisted by DeMaio, marking her fifth goal of the season. Villanova responded with four goals to close the third quarter and carried momentum into the fourth, scoring three more early goals.
• Waldron recorded her second goal of the game before Villanova's Bella Piselli answered with her third goal of the contest. Lewis added a late goal to give her six on the season as Towson fell 15-6.
