TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team faced Delaware State in a midweek matchup on Tuesday. The Tigers tied the game at two in the 6
th to send the game to extras, but the Hornets broke the deadlock in the 10
th and held on to defeat Towson 4-3.

- Kinsley Peek had multiple hits and RBIs.

- Olivia Trombley got the start for Towson and pitched 7.0 innings allowing five hits and one earned run with a walk and four strikeouts.
- Mikaela Guy receives the loss after pitching 3.0 innings out of the bullpen and allowing one hit and two unearned runs with two strikeouts.
- Kristin White earns the win after pitching two innings of relief and allowing no hits and one unearned run.
How it Happened:
- The Hornets scored a run in each of the first two innings to take an early 2-0 lead.
- Towson loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the 2nd but couldn't get a run back.
- The Tigers had a runner in scoring position in the 4th and 5th innings but still failed to close the gap.
- Three straight Hornet errors in the 6th allowed Alyssa Myint to score and cut the deficit in half. Then Kinsley Peek doubled to tie the game at two.
- Neither team scored the decisive run in the 7th, and the game went to extras.
- Both teams were unable to break the tie in the 8th or 9th, and in the 10th inning the automatic runner on second was instituted.
- In the Hornet's half of the 10th, a leadoff single and Towson error scored two runs to make it 4-2 Delaware State.
- Towson loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the 10th. Peek walked to make it 4-3 but the Tigers failed to tie the game and fell to the Hornets 4-3.
