WASHINGTON, D.C. – The seventh-seeded Towson University women's basketball team faced tenth-seeded Hofstra on Thursday night in the second round of the Credit Union 1 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championship at CareFirst Arena.
Hofstra (9-21, 6-12 CAA) started the game with a five-point lead through the first quarter before Towson (17-14, 10-8 CAA) outscored the Pride by ten in the second to claim the halftime lead. Hofstra regained the lead heading into the final quarter, which saw seven ties and four lead changes. The Pride's Emma Von Essen hit a three in the closing seconds to put them up by one with 2.6 seconds remaining. The Tigers' final shot of the game didn't fall as time expired, giving the Pride a 72-71 win in the second round of the conference tournament.

- The Pride hit threes on their first three offensive possessions of the second half and tied the game at 38. Marchbanks and Turner each hit a bucket to start the third quarter.
