TOWSON, Md.  – The Towson University softball team opened Coastal Athletic Association play against Drexel on Friday. Addie Ferguson's walk-off homerun delivered a 6-4 Tiger win and a 1-0 conference start.
 
Key Stats:

• Addie Ferguson had three hits and three RBIs.
• Alyssa Myint hit two doubles and drove in a run.
• Mackenzie Gorczyca and Addison Miller also drove in runs.
• Olivia Trombley got the start and earned the win for Towson after pitching a complete game and allowing seven hits and three earned runs with seven strikeouts.
• Courtney Kols receives the loss after also pitching a complete game and allowing eleven hits and six runs.

How it Happened:

• Olivia Trombley was perfect her first time through the Dragon lineup.
• Leah Mears and Addie Ferguson both singled in the top of the 1^st but the Tiger's couldn't take an early lead.
• Grace Franczyk led off the home-half of the 4^th with a double, with one out Alyssa Myint hit a double of her own to open the scoring and make it 1-0 Towson. The next batter, Addison Miller tripled to double the lead.
• The Dragons responded with four hits in the top of the 5^th, headlined by a two-run triple and RBI single that gave Drexel a 3-2 lead.
• Kaci Benton hit a one-out double in the 5^th and Addie Ferguson singled her home to tie the game. Two batters later, Mackenzie Gorczyca sent another ball back up the middle to score Ferguson and give Towson a 4-3 lead.
• After both pitchers threw scoreless 6^th innings, Drexel led off the 7^th with a single and a two-out error allowed the tying run to score.
• Kaci Benton led off the bottom of the 7^th with a walk bringing up Addie Ferguson who hit a walk-off homerun to deliver Towson a 6-4 win.
