TOWSON, Md. – A career day for
Joaquin Villagomez earns him Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week recognition, announced by the league on Monday.
It is the first time since April 29, 2024 when Villagomez has earned this league weekly honor. He is the second Tiger to be a CAA Offensive Player of the Week this season, joining
Mikey Weisshaar who got it on Feb. 16.
Villagomez matched a career-high seven points in Towson's 14-10 Friday night victory over UMBC. The redshirt junior attack notched four goals and three assists, also adding a caused turnover on the ride. He earned five of his nine points during Towson's pivotal nine-goal third quarter that led Towson past the Retrievers for good.
Tomorrow, March 3, Towson battles rival Loyola at the Ridley Athletic Complex at 6 p.m.
