Campbell Completes Comeback over Towson Baseball

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team hosted Campbell on Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three-game CAA series.
 
Towson's (7-13,0-9 CAA) came out swinging, scoring six runs in the first offensive frame. Campbell (14-9, 8-1 CAA) posted 11 runs over the next three innings to take an 11-6 lead. Down 12-6 in the ninth inning, the Tigers scored two runs, but left two runners in scoring position as the Camels went on to win 12-8.
 
Key Stats:
  • Towson starter Liam Diehl (0-4) took the loss, allowing eight runs, five earned, on six hits and three walks in 2.2 innings pitched. Diehl struck out five batters.
  • Campbell pitcher Beau Brailey (3-0) earned the win after tossing 2.2 scoreless frames. Brailey gave up three hits and struck out one.
 
How it Happened:
  • The Tigers put up six runs on five hits in the bottom of the first inning. Keldrin Rodriguez and Ethan Brand both hit home runs, a three-run and solo shot, respectively. Josh Janove recorded an RBI on a groundout to second base. Max D'Alessandro got home on from third base on a wild pitch.
  • The Camels got within two runs in the next frame with four runs on four hits.
  • Campbell added four runs in the third and three in the fourth to take an 11-6 lead.
  • Jonah Oster hit an RBI triple in the eighth inning, adding another run for the Camels.
  • The Tigers added two runs in the ninth inning but left two runners in scoring position as Campbell retired the final out the game.
 
On Deck:
The Tigers visit Princess Anne, Md., on Wednesday to face Maryland-Eastern Shore at 3 p.m.
