TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team faced Stony Brook in the third of a three-game Coastal Athletic Association series on Sunday. A six-run 5
th inning from the Seawolves sealed an 8-3 defeat as Towson was swept by Stony Brook to fall to 4-5 in CAA play.

- Briyana Wright, Addie Ferguson, Grace Franczyk and Alyssa Myint had multi-hit games.
- Oliva Trombley receives the loss after starting and throwing 4.0 innings allowing eight hits and four earned runs.
- Lessa Pieters pitched 1.1 scoreless innings of relief allowing two hits.
- Crimson Rice earns the win after pitching 5.0 innings and allowing nine hits and one earned run with four strikeouts.
How it Happened:
- Briyana Wright led off the game with a single and with two outs Mackensie Gorczyca hit another single to give Towson an early 1-0 lead.
- Olivia Trombley kept Stony Brook at zero through the first two innings.
- Addie Ferguson hit a lead of double to start of the top of the 3rd. A Grace Franczyk single moved Ferguson to third for Gorczyca who picked up her second RBI with a sacrifice fly to double Towson's lead.
- Stony Brook tied the game with a two-run homerun in the 3rd.
- After a scoreless 4th, two walks and an error loaded the bases for the Tigers. Kaci Benton brought home one with a single, but the Seawolves kept the score at 3-2 entering the bottom of the 5th.
- Stony Brook responded with a six-run 5th inning to take the lead and blow the game open as Towson went down 8-3 entering the 6th.
- The Tigers only managed one baserunner in each of the final two innings as the Seawolves closed out an 8-3 win and series sweep.

Towson's scheduled midweek game Tuesday against UMBC has been canceled. The Tigers instead return home Wednesday to host a midweek matchup against Coppin State.
