WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Tyler Tejada posted a new career high with 35 points as the Towson University men's basketball team defeated the Hampton Pirate 74-68 in the second round of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament.
The Tigers are set to face the two seed, College of Charleston, on Sunday at 6 p.m. The two teams faced each other once in the regular season, a 61-52 win for the Tigers.

- Tejada led Towson with 35 points while Dylan Williamson added 20 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ryan Conway opened the scoring for Towson with a three pointer 45 seconds into the game. From that point on, Towson led the entire way.
- The Tigers opened on a 10-2 run in the first 4:19 of the game.
- The rest of the half was played evenly with Towson entering the half up 13 points.
- After the Pirates made the opening bucket of the second half, Towson went on a 9-0 run to take a 39-19 lead.
- Hampton clawed back to a 14 point deficit with 12:13 left on the clock before Towson extended the lead back to 23 with 5:02 left on the clock.
- The game got close again with the Pirates going on an 18-1 run over the next 3:46 to cut the lead to two scores with just over one minute left.
- Clutch free throws in the last 69 seconds, including eight by Tejada, sealed the Towson win.
