TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team faced UNCW in the second of a three game Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series Saturday afternoon. The Tigers fell 8-0 to the Seahawks to seal the series in UNCW's favor with one more game to play tomorrow.

- Mackenzie Gorczyca had the Tiger's lone hit of the afternoon.
- Amanda Medina receives the loss after allowing six hits with four earned runs and two strikeouts over 3.0 innings of work.
- Chelsey Farthing pitched 2.1 innings of relief allowing four hits and three runs with a strikeout.
- Lynsie Herman earned the win after pitching a complete game and allowing one hit and three walks with six strikeouts over 6.0 innings.
How it Happened:
- Mackenzie Gorczyca got herself into scoring position in the 1st with two outs after walking, but the Tigers failed to take an early lead.
- The Seahawks did take a 1st inning lead as UNCW scored four to jump out ahead quickly.
- UNCW added another run in the 2nd to take a 5-0 lead entering the 3rd inning.
- Hannah Lebert walked and advanced to third with one out in the top of the 3rd but couldn't advance the final 90 feet.
- Chelsea Farthing entered to pitch in the bottom of the 4th and threw a scoreless inning with a strikeout.
- Farthing sent the Seahawks down in order in the 5th.
- Gorczyca's two-out single in the top of the 6th broke up the Seahawk's no-hit bid but couldn't spark a rally.
- UNCW scored three in the bottom of the sixth to end the game and defeat the Tigers 8-0.
