EASTON, Penn. – Towson men's golf finishes in second place at the ABARTA Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational with a two-round score of five-over par. The Tigers were the only team to shoot four-over par or better in both rounds at the tournament.
Towson entered the day with a four-stroke lead over Drexel after shooting one-over par. Lafayette College, who were playing on their home course, were 13 strokes behind. The Leopards shot 10-under par in the second round to close the gap. It was the only round under par by any team at the tournament.
For the Tigers,
Jai Sheth was the best finishers at sixth place and even par. Sheth shot six-under par on holes 10 and 11 for the tournament after two eagles in round one.
Sky Aung joined Sheth in the top 10 with a one-over par performance across both rounds. Aung added the third Tiger eagle to the tournament ledger on hole seven.
Michael Matheson turned in the best performance of any tiger in the second round with an even-par performance, parring 12 of 18 holes. He climbed 19 spots on the second day to finish in 19th place.
Ariihau Faana carded five-over par the tournament. He birdied three holes in the second round.
Matthew Gonnello shot one-over par in the second round to improve 26 spots in the standings. He birdied four holes in round two.
Poon Nantsupawat competed as an individual and turned in a seven-over par performance, birdieing three holes in the second round.
Towson turns around and competes again on Saturday at the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State.
