TOWSON, Md.  – The Towson University softball team played a double header against Drexel for the first two games of the Coastal Athletic Association series between the two teams. The Tigers and Dragons split the two games as Towson took game one 3-2 before falling 11-1 to Drexel in game two.
 
Game One: Towson 3, Drexel 2
Key Stats:

• Alyssa Myint hit 2-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.
• Addie Ferguson recorded a double and an RBI.
• Kaci Benton hit her 20^th double of the season.
• Mikaela Guy earned the win for the Tigers after pitching a 7.0 inning complete game and allowing six hits and two runs with four strikeouts.
• Courtney Kols receives the loss for Drexel after allowing seven hits and three runs with three strikeouts in a 7.0 inning complete game of her own.

 
How it Happened:

• Mackenzie Gorczyca's two-out infield single in the top of the 1^st made her the first baserunner of the game. The next batter Addie Ferguson doubled to give Towson an early 1-0 lead.
• The Tigers kept it up in the 2nd as Leah Mears walked and Hannah Lebert singled with one out. Kallissa Coats made it back-to-back hits to loa the bases for Alyssa who doubled to score two and give Towson a 3-0 lead.
• Towson starter Mikaela Guy was perfect through the first three innings of the game.
• Drexel found its first hit of the game with no outs in the bottom of the 4^th and would score its first run of the game in the inning from an RBI single.
• Kaci Benton hit her 20^th double of the season with one out in the 5^th but the scored remained 3-1 Towson entering the bottom of the 5^th.
• Guy worked around base hits in the 5^th and 6^th innings to preserve Towson's 2-run lead.
• Alyssa Myint's second double of the game in the top of the 7^th failed to lead to an insurance run for the Tigers.
• The Dragons put two on with two outs in the bottom of the 7^th, a ball into the gap scored one to make it 3-2 but the second baserunner was thrown out at home by Kaci Benton to deliver a 3-2 victory to Towson.

 
Game 2: Towson 1, Drexel 11
Key Stats:

• Isabella Canesi hit her sixth homerun of the season.
• Kaci Benton had the Tigers only other hit.
• Jessa Pieters receives the loss after allowing seven hits and four runs over 2.0 innings.
• Courtney Kols earns the win for Drexel after pitching a 5.0 inning complete game allowing two hits and one run.

 
How it Happened:

• It was Drexel's turn to take a 1^st inning lead as the Dragons plated two in the bottom of the opening frame to take an early 2-0 lead.
• The Dragons doubled the deficit in the bottom of the 2^nd and The Tigers entered the 3^rd down 4-0.
• Amanda Medina pitched a scoreless 3^rd inning.
• Kaci Benton singled with one out in the top of the 4^th for the Tigers first hit, but the Towson was unable to get any runs back.
• Drexel broke the game open scoring seven runs in the bottom of the 4^th and taking an 11-0 lead.
• Isabella Canesi led off the top of the 5^th with a solo homerun, but Towson couldn't get any more runs back as the Tigers lost 11-1 to the Dragons in five innings.
