TOWSON, Md. – Four members of the Towson University women's tennis team have been named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team. Sophomores
Kiersten Tambe,
Gaia Montecchi,
Aubrey Carper and
Chloe Courtnage were selected.
To be eligible, nominees must be a starter or important reserve, must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in undergraduate and (if applicable) graduate studies and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Tambe played both number one singles and doubles for the second consecutive season– combining to win 19 times. She was 8-11 at No. 1 singles and went 11-9 in doubles, including a 10-6 record with Chandrè Boshoff. That duo was named Third-Team All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). The Information Systems major, who earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester, has a 3.793 cumulative GPA.
Montecchi earned a spot on the Third-Team All-CAA singles team after finishing the season with a 15-5 record. She spent most of the season at No. 2 flight – going 13-5 and had 14 straight set wins. Between February 14-March 28, she won nine-of-11 matches. Montecchi, who is majoring in Biology with a concentration in cell molecular organism physiology, carries a 3.928 GPA.
Carper and Courtnage spent the second half of the season as Towson's No. 2 doubles team – finishing with a 7-4 record. The duo won five times in the final six matches of the season. Carper (3.652 GPA in Exercise Science) played 14 singles matches, while Courtnage (3.675 GPA in Psychology) played 10 times in singles action.
