TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team faced Northeastern in the second game of a three-game Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series on Friday afternoon at Brooks Robinson Field at John B. Schuerholz Park.
Northeastern (34-18, 22-7 CAA) posted two runs in the third and two in the fourth for an early lead over Towson (21-32, 8-21 CAA). The Tigers scored five runs in the home half of the fourth to nab the lead. After surrendering it,
Brady Nathison's two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh knotted things up at seven. The Huskies' Brinker's solo home run in the ninth proved to be the difference as the Tigers narrowly fell 8-7 in game two.
Key Stats:
- Towson reliever Vincent Salvo (3-1) took the loss, allowing three earned runs on three hits 3.2 innings pitched. Salvo walked one batter.
- Northeastern pitcher Cooper Rogovic (3-2) earned the win after tossing 2.2 hitless frames to close the game. Rogovic struck out four batters and walked two.
How it Happened:
- Two of Northeastern's first three batters in the third inning, DiGiorgio and Feinberg, doubled as Feinberg picked up an RBI. Feinberg stole third and scored as the throw down got away, rolling into left field.
- Musacchia hit an RBI single up the middle in the fourth, adding to the Husky lead. The next batter, Fosberg, reached on an error, which allowed Musacchia to score on the play.
- The Tigers added five runs on three hits in the home half. Nich Francuzenko picked up the first RBI of the inning after working a bases-loaded walk. With two outs and the bases loaded, Yariel Rodriguez singled to right field, scoring two. Later in the frame, Brady Nathison dropped a single down the right field line for two more, giving the Tigers a 5-4 lead.
- Northeastern scored three runs on two hits in the sixth, putting the Huskie back head 7-5.
- Following Nick LoBello's leadoff single in the bottom of the seventh, Nathison lifted a two-run homer out to left field, tying the game at seven.
- With one out in the top of the ninth, Matt Brinker hit a solo home run to left, taking the lead back for the Huskies.
- The Tigers stranded two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth as they narrowly fell, 8-7, to Northeastern.

The Tigers will conclude their series and season tomorrow at 2 p.m., against the Northeastern Huskies, at Brooks Robinson Field at John B. Schuerholz Park. Tomorrow's senior day ceremony will commence at 1:20 p.m. to honor the Tiger senior class.
