TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's tennis team will play in four events during the fall portion of the 2026-27 season.
 
Jamie Peterson's squad will open the campaign at the Tiger Tennis Complex – hosting the Towson Hidden Duals (Sept. 25-27). The following weekend (Oct. 2-4), Towson will make the five-mile journey down Charles Street to Cold Spring Lane for the Loyola Hidden Duals at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

Next up is the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals, hosted by Liberty University, beginning October 15 then the team will wrap up the fall with a trip to Annapolis for the Navy Hidden Duals on October 31 and November 1.
 
Towson returns seven of the top eight players from the 2025-26 team that finished with a 10-10 record, the first .500 season since 2018-19. Three returnees received end-of-the-year accolades from the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA).

Gaia Montecchi was named All-CAA Third Team in singles after finishing her sophomore season with a 15-5 record with victories on courts 1, 2 and 3. She spent most of the season at No. 2 flight – going 13-5. Towson's top doubles team of Kiersten Tambe and Chandrè Boshoff also earned All-CAA Third Team honors. The duo went 10-6 this season, which included a 6-2 victory over Charleston's Sia Cariov and Francesca Salvato, who were named to All-CAA First Team.
 
Tambe has played in the No. 1 singles slot the last two seasons. Boshoff spent last season at the No. 3 flight.
 
Ashira Murray, who went 15-4 as a junior in singles action, will return for her senior season. She was undefeated in eight matches at No. 5 singles and went 7-4 at No. 4.
 
Also back are juniors Tamzin Pountney, Aubrey Carper and Chloe Courtnage. Pountney has been a mainstay at No. 3 and No. 4 spots in the singles lineup. Carper and Courtnage went 7-4 last season as the No. 2 doubles team, winning five times in the last six matches. Carper also has 10 career singles victories.
 
More than half of the nine-person roster was born outside of the United States. Boshoff hails from George, South Africa, which is 8,100 miles from campus. Montecchi is a native of Bango a Ripoli, Italy which is 4,300 miles from Towson. Murray and Pountney were born and raised in England, 3,500 miles from campus. Courtnage is from Calgary, Canada, which is 2,300 miles away. 
 
Peterson enters his 11th season year at the helm of the Towson women's tennis program in 2025-26. With 85 coaching victories. Only Ken Volk (106 wins) and Peter Walten (86) have more wins coaching the Towson University women's tennis program. He was two-time team captain on the Towson men's tennis team from 1991-95 – finishing his career with a 64-35 record, the fourth-most wins and fourth-best winning percentage in program history.
