QUEENS, N.Y. – A final minute goal by St. John's allowed the Red Storm to take the 2-1 win over the Towson University women's soccer team on Thursday.
"I'm really proud of our second half grit and determination. Our back line had a great game. We created a lot of chances in our attack and some younger players got some quality minutes. We worked today. The final result does not reflect the quality of the play. We had a very unfortunate mistake with 37 seconds left in regulation. I have no doubt that we will learn from that. Now, we will focus on bouncing back and preparing for [George Washington] on Sunday," head coach

The Red Storm's (1-2-0) first goal was initially called back due to offsides. After replay review, the goal was allowed, giving St. John's the decisive tally.
Sofia Rosenblatt answered with a Towson goal in the 66th minute off a corner kick to tie up the game. After St. John's regained possession in the Towson box in the final minute, the Red Storm put away the decisive goal.
