TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University field hockey team defeated the University of Pennsylvania 4-3 on Sunday at the TU Field Hockey Complex. A back-and-forth game saw a Delfina Larripa hat trick and Stevie Schultz's first career goal prove the difference as Towson (3-5) earned a one-goal win over Penn (1-4) to begin its three game homestand.

• The Tigers attempted 12 shots putting seven on goal and earned two penalty corners, against 22 shots with 15 on target and 15 penalty corners for the Quakers.

• 1^st Quarter: Less than three minutes into the period, Penn earned five consecutive penalty corners, but the Tiger defense kept the ball away from its goal. The first quarter would end without either team putting a shot on net.
• 2^nd Quarter: The Tigers struck early in the second as Jillan LaBar stole the ball in the Quakers defensive end and found Olivia Thunnissen who carried into the circle and played back to LaBar for a shot that was deflected in by Delfina Larripa to open the scoring.
• Penn tied the game at one midway the quarter via a penalty corner. Then with two minutes left in the first half, Else Wismans carried down the left side of the field and into the Penn circle. Wismans played a ball across goal which was tapped by Ella Jefferson to Larripa who turned and scored her second goal of the game to put Towson up 2-1 at the half.
• 3^rd Quarter: Both goalies traded saves early in the third period. The Quakers would control the ball for much of the first half of the third quarter and only four more saves from Riley Redding kept the Tigers ahead. With under four minutes left in the quarter the Tigers earned a corner and Larripa played to Stevie Schultz whose shot found the back of the goal to put Towson ahead 3-1 entering the fourth.
• 4^th Quarter: Three minutes into the final period, the Quakers earned a penalty stroke which Reese Czajkowski converted to cut the Tigers lead to one. The score held until the final five minutes when Larripa took a long corner and carried into the Quaker circle, shot and scored her third of the day to restore Towson's two goal lead.
• A second penalty corner goal from Penn only 30 seconds later made it a one-score game once again, but Towson held on for the final four and-a-half minutes to earn a 4-3 win over Penn.

• Delfina Larripa's three goals marked her first goal as a Tiger and her first career hat trick.
