HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Towson University women's soccer dropped the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) opener to Hofstra 2-1 on the road on Sunday.
All goals were scored in the first half with Hofstra scoring in the fourth minute. Towson equalized in the 16th minute before the Pride scored the game winner in the 35th minute.
"We had some shocking decision making in the first half leading to their two goals. Can't give up penalties. KP's goal was excellent, as she realized their keeper was out and chipped her. I was pleased with the grit and effort we played with in the second half and outshooting them 12-1. It's important to pick up points on the road—however, we need to finish our chances in order to do so," Towson head coach

- 4' Hofstra Goal – Hofstra earned a corner kick early in the game which they sent to the opposite end of the six-yard box. The Pride attacker headed the ball back across the frame of the goal which managed to have enough pace to find its way just past the outstretched Towson keeper.
- 16' Towson Goal – With the ball deep in the Towson defensive end, Jaelyn White fed the ball towards the halfway line which Sophie Thibeault redirected around two Pride defenders. Perry's pace allowed her to get around the Hofstra defense. With the Pride keeper well of her line, Perry was able to chip the ball over the Hofstra keeper's head for the equalizer.
- 35' Hofstra Goal – Late into the first half, Hofstra was given a penalty kick which they sent in the opposite direction of the diving Towson goalie for the 2-1 led.
- 80' Hofstra Red Card – Jessica Martin received two yellow cards within 92 seconds of each other earning the red card leading to the Pride playing down one player for the final 10 minutes

- Sydney Lindeman played the full 90 minutes for the eighth time this season.
- Keagan Williams and Teagan Gardner split time in goal for the third straight match.
