Entering the 2021-22 year, Cheyenne Curley begins her seventh season at Towson University and her third as an assistant coach on the women's basketball staff. 

In the fall of 2019, Curley was elevated to assistant coach after serving for five years as the women's basketball Director of Operations. In 2018 she earned a master's degree in business administration. 

During the 2020-21 slate, Curley primarily worked with the Tigers’ guards. She saw Kionna Jeter finish her collegiate career averaging 23.0 points per game to rank 10th in the country and first in CAA. Jeter reached 20+ points in 13 games and has tallied 30+ points six times during the season. She also reached double figure scoring in 19 games. The redshirt senior recorded 1,582 points to rank third overall on the Towson University women's basketball all-time scoring list. Curley also worked with sophomore Aleah Nelson, helping to guide her to a stellar first season as a Tiger. Nelson averaged 6.5 assists per game to finish the season ranked eighth in the nation and first in the conference in the category. Nelson also accumulated 130 total helpers and ranked 15th in the country and first in the league in total dimes. She also scored 13.5 points per game. Jeter was selected to the All-CAA first team and Nelson earned All-CAA second team honors.  

Curley also saw Jeter become the first player in program history to get selected in the WNBA Draft. Jeter was chosen with the 12th pick in the third round, 36th overall, in the 2021 draft by the Las Vegas Aces. 

Curley was named a 2021 Women's Basketball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 honoree. 

The 2019-20 season saw Curley begin her work with the guards on the team, with Jeter remaining a top three scorer in the CAA. Curley also helped guide Q. Murray to set the second consecutive single-season assist record; Jeter led the league in steals as well.

Curley is a former player of former Towson head coach Niki Reid Geckeler’s at Howard, and joined the women’s basketball staff in the summer of 2014. 

Curley joined the Tigers from San Diego City College, where she assisted with on-the-floor coaching during practice and maintained the availability of required sports gear and equipment. She performed administrative and managerial functions and acted as a liaison between the head coach and the players. 

While coaching at San Diego City College, Curley was also working as a residential care worker/supervisor at Varsity Team Inc. There she supervised troubled foster youth in a residential facility. Curley helped keep records on individual children of daily observations, behavior, activities and medications administered. She led youth independent living skills training and used her knowledge to provide counseling or therapy for mentally disturbed, delinquent or handicapped children. 

Further, Curley was a coach/camp coordinator at the I9 Sports program. There she assisted in the planning and organization for youth sports programs. She facilitated and developed the curriculum for camps throughout the year. Curley also instructed and coached youth teams in different sports and provided instruction in general skills of the sports. 

Curley earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Howard University in sport management in May of 2013. At Howard, she played basketball for Reid Geckeler. Curley was a four-year starter at point guard who led the Bison to two seasons with 20 or more wins. She helped Howard reach the MEAC Championship game twice and in both of those seasons, the Bison advance to the posteason. Curley’s play helped Howard earn its first ever Preseason WNIT invitation. Curley led Howard to 24 wins as a junior, which tied the program record for single-season victories. She was ranked in the top 25 in the nation for steals per game and assists per game during her career. She was a team captain who finished her career ranked second in career assists and steals at Howard. She also set the single-season assist record for the Bison. She was named the Howard University Female Athlete of the Year for 2012-13.
