Coach Rogers

Christie Rogers

Christie Rogers returned to Towson athletics department in June 2022 as special assistant to the women’s basketball coach after previously working as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Tigers from 2012-2016.

Rogers has an extensive history of coaching experience. She served as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Coppin State for the 2021-2022 season. She was the women’s basketball assistant coach/offensive coordinator at UMBC from 2019-2020. Prior to UMBC, Rogers was the women’s basketball assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Radford University (2016-2019), Towson University (2012-2016), and Winthrop University (2011-2012). During her time in graduate school, she was a graduate assistant coach at Clemson University for the women’s basketball team from 2009-2011. She also worked as an intern for the Washington Mystics from May-September 2008.

At Coppin State she was responsible for helping the team improve from two to 15 wins over the course of a season. There she also coached MEAC Player of the Year-Jaia Alexander, Firstst Team All-Conference guard-Aliyah Lawson, and 3rd All-Conference guard-Mossi Staples.

At UMBC, she helped the Retrievers double their number of conference wins from the previous season. During her time there the team finished third in the conference in field goal percentage and second in three-point field goal percentage.

 Rogers helped contribute to a nationally ranked coaching defense at Radford where she also coached first Team All-Conference guard Destinee Walker in 2017. She helped coach the Highlanders to two Big South regular-season championships and a tournament championship in 2018-2019.

 At Towson she directed all recruiting efforts, oversaw offensive coordinating and all equipment/gear needs, did majority of scouting reports, and coached first Team All-Conference guard-Tanisha McTiller (2013&2014). She also signed two top players from ESPN and USA Today’s No. 1 team in the nation.
At Winthrop she was part of a record-breaking season where the team broke over 45 records and had the nation’s leading three-point shooter and Big South Player of the Year in two different guards.

At Clemson she helped with all recruiting related tasks including planning campus visits, creating all recruiting mailouts, managing the recruiting database, and organizing/scheduling off-campus evaluations.

With the Mystics, Rogers assisted the coaches with all necessary tasks, scouted opponents and was able to create several scouting reports for the coaches and players to utilize in preparation for games.

Rogers graduated in 2009 from Washington College with a Bachelor of Science in psychology where she was a starting point guard and captain of the women’s basketball team for three years. She received her Master of Science in youth development leadership from Clemson University.
