Butler had a five-point game against LIU Brooklyn to give Towson its second win of the season, matching the program’s win total from last year. Butler opened the scoring with a penalty stroke, the first of her career and the Tigers’ first of the season. She then added a goal off a penalty corner chance with five seconds remaining in the first half. That goal would prove to be the game-winner. Butler provided the assist for Natalie Hack’s goal that gave Towson a 3-1 edge over LIU Brooklyn. Her five-point game is the first since Kate Nolan tallied two goals and an assist against Saint Joseph’s (Sept. 4, 2011). Butler tallied nine shots against the Blackbirds, the most shots in a single game by a Tiger since Katie DeFilippo had 16 against Appalachian State (Oct. 14, 2011). Butler now leads Towson with seven points (3G, 1 A) and has taken a team-high 13 shots.
