Over the weekend junior Nukiya Mayo sealed an important win over Drexel for the Towson University women’s basketball team with 13 points and a buzzer beater. Friday night, Mayo was 3-for-4 from three and shot 41 percent from the field as she helped lead the team to its first win over the Dragons since 2010. The Bronx, New York native also had eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block, leading the Tigers in boards.

Mayo’s buzzer-beater on Friday created positive momentum going into Sunday afternoon, when Mayo showed up again. Towson was on its way to the first win at Delaware since 2008 and the junior dropped 13 points again on a 38-percent shooting day and grabbed eight rebounds.
