Grassini had a big week at the net to lead the Tigers to a split of their Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) road matches last week. In the two matches combined, Grassini knocked down a team-high 21 kills while hitting .613. She also contributed three service aces, five digs and two blocks for the Tigers.
On Friday night at College of Charleston, Grassini tied for the team lead with seven kills and posted a .385 hitting percentage. She had three digs, two blocks and a service ace.
In Sunday’s 3-1 win over UNCW, Grassini was stellar on attack. The sophomore knocked down a match-high 14 kills and posted a blistering .778 hitting percentage (14 kills, 18 attempts, no errors). It was the best hitting percentage by a Tiger since Jessica Lewis hit .889 with 16 kills against Alabama A&M last year. Grassini added a pair of service aces and two digs.
Grassini is hitting .391 this season which ranks third in the CAA and 35th nationally.
