Mary Cuevas paced the Tigers while averaging 22 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in the opening weekend of Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. She shot 48.5 percent from the floor and was a solid 11-for-17 from the foul line. Cuevas also added four assists, four steals and three blocks in the two games combined.
In Friday's CAA opener against Northeastern, Cuevas matched her career-high with 23 points and added 10 rebounds. She shot 46.7 percent from the field and tied her career-high by making eight shots from the foul line. For Cuevas, it was her fifth double-double of the year. She added an assist, a block and set her career-high with three steals.
Sunday against the College of Charleston, Cuevas posted her third-straight 20-plus point performance and fourth of the season as she finished with a game-high 21 points. She shot 50 percent from the field and grabbed nine rebounds. She also contributed three assists, two blocks and a steal.
