TOWSON, Md. ? For the second straight home game, the Towson University
campus and community came out in large numbers to support the Tiger
football team. After opening the season with the fifth best game
attendance in history, the second home game of the season saw the
single game attendance record fall when 10, 856 fans showed up for the
Delaware game on September 23.
With
over 18,000 fans attending the first two games there is definitely a
surge in school spirit on campus this season. With so much more to do
on game day and a team that has received more attention than any other
Tiger football team in recent memory, fans have decided that Saturday's
at The U is the place to be.
Pre-game options like the Tiger Tent Village, the Burkshire Marriott Hospitality Tent, the Minnegan Room Pre-Game Show
and the Tiger Terrace have created an atmosphere that has raised the
quality of game day excitement, and thus made it more attractive and
enjoyable for Tiger fans. When you add the effort by Campus Life to enhance student tailgating, the atmosphere on gameday is electric.
With
three games remaining, we are on pace to set the season attendance
record. There is a surge of Tiger Spirit around campus these days. If
you don't believe it, just come out to the next home game on October 6th when the Tigers take on CAA foe Richmond, and soon you too will be “Bleeding Black and Gold!”
