ATLANTA, Ga. ? The Towson University volleyball team ran its win streak to four with a 3-0 victory at Georgia State on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (13-4, 2-0 CAA) got 29 assists and nine digs from sophomore Katee Luecke in the victory.
Towson hit .389 in the first set and claimed a 25-14 victory. The Tigers held the Panthers to a .000 hitting percentage in the second set and won 25-17. Towson claimed victory with a 25-18 win in the third set.
The Tigers got a number of strong performances on the day including Luecke's. Senior Maddie Haseltine recorded a match-high 13 kills and had eight digs while fellow senior Valerie Chromy hit .538 with nine kills. Sophomore Shelynne Hoyt finished with seven kills, hit .636 and recorded three block assists. Junior Missy Rohrbaugh contributed 14 digs in the contest.
Georgia State was led by Ashley Jones who had 15 assists and Audrey Cantrell who contributed 13 digs.
The Tigers return home on Friday, October 3 to host Virginia Commonwealth at 7 p.m.
