Tigers Outlast George Mason, 171-129

FAIRFAX, Va. ? Led by three event sweeps, the defending Colonial Athletic Association champion Tigers extended their win streak to three straight dual meets with a 171-129 victory over George Mason at the Patriots' Jim McKay Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. The win upped the Tigers' dual meet record to 10-1 on the season.

 

Junior Christina Bowman and sophomore Meredith Budner led the Tigers to the victory. Bowman won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:00.46 while finishing third in the 1000-yard freestyle. Meanwhile, Budner earned the victory in the 1000-yard free with a mark of 10:15.49 and posted a second-place finish in the 500-yard free.

 

Sophomore Brooke Golden won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.75 while freshman Cari Czarnecki took first place in the 200-yard butterfly by completing the event in 2:04.66.

 

Junior Robin Glaser won the 100-yard freestyle in 53.08 seconds while senior Danielle Kelly took first place in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:06.32.

 

Senior Hillary Rieveley earned a victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.61 seconds.

 

The Tigers will continue their three-meet road trip next Saturday at Loyola with a double dual meet against the Greyhounds and James Madison at 1 p.m.
