TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept La Salle on Saturday in Philadelphia. The wins complete a 4-0 weekend for the Tigers ahead of Towson's first invite of the season in two weeks,
Strong performances throughout saw the Towson women win 12 of 14 swimming events on the day led by
Addie Scott's three individual wins. The Towson men were not far behind winning ten of 14 swimming events with
Benjamin Eischeid and
Isak Brkanovic each winning two individual events and two relays.
Men's Key Moments:
- The team of Jed Garner, Harry Herrera, Benjamin Eischeid and Isak Brkanovic started the meet strong with a win in the 200 medley relay.
- Brkanovic earned solo wins in the 50 free and 100 free.
- Garner won his third 100 breast heat of the season and Herrera won his third 200 breast heart of the season.
- Nathan Decker picked up his first win of the season with a win in the 200 back.
- Eischeid got a pair of individual wins in the 200 free and the 100 fly.
- Anthony Mortellite earned his first win of the season after touching first in the 200 IM.
- Brkanovic, Eischeid, Hugo Haggard, and Jake Wade closed out the men's swimming heats with a 400 free relay win.
- The top men's diver was Grady Gardner who finished fourth on both boards.
Women's Key Moments:
- Emily Thornett, Marine Ingram, Bjartey Gudmundsdottir and Ryland Zuniga picked up the Tiger's first 200 medley relay win of the year.
- Addie Scott was once again the meet leader for individual wins with three in the 1000 free, 50 free, and 100 free.
- Masha Netrebko got her second win in two days in the 200 fly.
- Kaitlyn Besner earned her second win in as many days in the 500 free.
- Zuniga won the 200 free for her first individual win of the new season.
- Thornett tied for first in the 100 back.
- Ava McKinney touched first in the 200 back for her first win of the season.
- Maisie Brown picked up her second 200 breast win in three meets.
- Daphne Mead got her first win as a Tiger in the 200 IM.
- The women ended the swimming events strong with a win in the 400 free relay by Gudmundsdottir, Emelia Erikson, Scott and Zuniga.
- Lara Booth Alam was the top placer on the boards finishing second on the 3 meter dive and third in the 1 meter dive.
