BALTIMORE, Md. ? A complete team effort helped the defending CAA champion Tiger women's swimming and diving team to a pair of victories over Loyola and James Madison at the Greyhounds' Mangione Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers, who are 12-1 on the season, defeated host Loyola by a 244-65 margin while beating the Dukes, 188-112.
Meanwhile, James Madison defeated the Greyhounds by 218-91 to earn a split in the double dual meet.
Freshman Cari Czarnecki won a pair of individual events to lead the Tigers in the meet. She won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.40 before posting a time of 57.68 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly. She also helped the Tigers win the 200-yard medley relay as the team posted a time of 1:47.43.
Sophomore Brooke Golden won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:12.26 while senior Danielle Kelly took first place in the 100-yard backstroke in 58.63 seconds.
Junior Jordan Crosby earned first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.70 before sophomore Meredith Budner won the 100-yard freestyle in 53.62 seconds. Sophomore Erica Hall took first place in the 200-yard backstroke, completing the race in 2:07.97.
Junior Ivy Wimberley gave the Tigers a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.52 before freshman Veronica Feltrin won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:07.44.
Freshman Caroline Baker finished second in the three-meter diving event, recording a score of 261.40 points.
The Tigers will complete the regular season next Saturday at Old Dominion.
