Tigers Fall at Bucknell, 4-0

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell scored a pair of goals in each half en route to a 4-0 win over the Tigers on Sunday afternoon. Towson (3-3) had its three-game win streak snapped in the loss.

"We were unable to take advantage of our opportunities today," said Coach Michelle Webber. "We need to work on that going forward."

Morgan Kauffman scored a pair of first half goals to give Bucknell the early lead. Kauffman's first goal came at 12:59 of the first half on a three-on-two situation. Kelly Bruvik had the assist on Kauffman's goal.

Kauffman scored her second goal of the game off an assist from Marci Richard.

Bucknell held a 2-0 lead at the break on the scoreboard and a 13-4 edge in shots.

Less than two minutes into the second half, the Bison extended their advantage to 3-0. Bruvik scored off an assist from Mallory Smith at 36:40.

The final tally came at 63:47 when Taylor Siegrist converted a penalty stroke for Bucknell.

Sarah Zargarpour made four saves to earn the win in goal for Bucknell. Whitney Clugston played the first 64:57 in goal for the Tigers and surrendered four goals while making five saves in the loss. Jamie Dowling played the final 5:03 in goal for the Tigers.

Bucknell finished the game with a 21-8 advantage in shots and a 10-5 edge in penalty corners.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, September 17 when they return home to host West Chester at 6 p.m.
