HARRISONBURG, Va. - Led by three individual wins by senior Brooke Golden, the Tigers swept a double dual meet against Loyola and James Madison on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers defeated the Greyhounds by a 251-48 margin while handing the host Dukes a 156-144 verdict.
With the wins, the Tigers improved to 11-1 on the season and are now 7-0 in the CAA.
Golden turned in a time of 10:07.95 to earn first place in the 1000-yard freestyle before winning the 200-yard butterfly in 2 minutes, 5.22 seconds. She completed the three-win performance by taking first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:58.52.
Senior Erica Hall earned a victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.20 while senior Meredith Budner won the 100-yard backstroke in 58.23 seconds. Budner also won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.17 before earning her third win of the meet in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.54.
Hall and Budner also helped the Tigers win the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:27.07. Meanwhile, junior Cari Czarnecki won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:05.07.
The Tigers will finish the regular season next week with a pair of meets beginning on Friday at Johns Hopkins.
