WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Tigers won their fifth consecutive meet of
the season Saturday in a 203-59 road win at George Washington.
Emily Marett, Kaitlin Burke and Cari Czarnecki all won multiple events for
the Tigers (5-0, 3-0 CAA) in the meet.
Marett was particularly impressive, as she
posted her best meet of the season against the Colonials. Marett won the 100
and 200-yard breaststroke events. Her time of 1:06.99 in the 100-yard event led
Towson in an event that saw the Tigers finish with the top three places. Maegan McLaughlin and Maggie Macedonia finished second and third
respectively for Towson.
Burke, the reigning Co-CAA Swimmer of the Week,
won the 50, 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events for Towson in another
impressive showing.
"We need to continue to work on the little
things," Towson Coach Pat Mead said. "When you are ahead it's
always easy to perform. I thought we did a very good job of getting to the wall
first and that was a positive."
Czarnecki won the 200-yard individual medley and
100 and 200-yard butterfly events.
The Tigers continue their season Thursday, Nov.
17 when the team participates in the Maryland Invite as part of a three-day
event.
