TOWSON, Md. – The
Tigers competed for the second time at the New York Armory Thursday afternoon
at the Armory Collegiate Challenge. Led by a strong middle distance
performance, the Tigers excelled in a non scoring meet against 29 other
schools.
Freshman Kara Bucaro
finished with the second-best time in Towson history in the 1,000-meter run,
finishing with a time of 2:56.83. The Tigers also placed two more runners in
the history books for the event, as both Emma
Tobin and Elizabeth Shaw posted
top-ten all-time results.
Tobin, who placed eighth in the event Thursday, had the
sixth-best time in school history with a time of 3:01.16. Shaw is now tenth
all-time at Towson in the event, as she finished with a time of 3:05.60.
“We had some good races,” Towson Coach Roger Erricker said. “In the middle distance events we did very
well.”
Graduate student Katie
Ogden had an excellent performance in the 3,000-meter run, finishing with a
time of 10:18.13 for Towson. It was the third best time in program history.
