| @Towson_FH Falls at No. 8 Virginia, 14-0

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sophomore goalkeeper Tashani Dickson made a career-high 15 saves as the Towson University field hockey team fell to No. 8 University of Virginia, 14-0 on Friday afternoon.

Five players scored for the Cavaliers for the first half of action, as the home team jumped out to a 7-0 lead. Paige Selenski scored 50 seconds into the game and would add her second goal of the half in the game's 20th minute. Elly Buckley scored a pair of goals for Virginia in the half, striking once in the 20th minute and the next time in the game's 29th minute.

Virginia took 26 shots in the first half while senior Kate Nolan had a shot for the Tigers. Dickson made 11 first-half saves in the contest.

The Cavaliers would score seven more times in the second half of play. Selenski and Buckley each scored a pair of goals to complete their hat tricks. Rachel Sumfest scored her second goal of the game in the second half.

Rebecca Holden started for the Cavaliers and was not forced to make a save in her 20:41 of action. Amanda Crider made two saves while playing the final 49:19 in goal for the Cavaliers.

Virginia finished the game with 44 shots to Towson's two. The Cavaliers finished with 13 of the game's 15 penalty corners.

Selenski added two assists to go along with her four goals in the game. Buckley finished with four goals while Sumfest had two goals. Sarah Webber had a goal and an assist in the game for the Cavaliers.

Junior Kathleen Morris recorded a shot in the second half for the Tigers.

Towson is back in action on Sunday, Sept. 2 when the Tigers travel to the University of Pennsylvania for a 7 p.m. game.
