BATON ROUGE, La. - Here are 10 things everyone should know before the Tigers face LSU on Saturday evening.
1) The Tiger pass defense ranks number one among NCAA FCS schools, allowing 107 passing yards per game.
2) LSU is only the second team that Towson has ever played with the nickname Tigers. Hampden-Sydney was the first.
3) LSU has won three national championships, including the 2007 BCS title.
4) LSU has won its first four games of the season, beating North Texas (41-14), Washington (41-3), Idaho (63-14) and Auburn (12-10).
5) Sophomore Terrance West leads the Tigers with five touchdowns scored. He has scored 34 career touchdowns in 15 games.
6) Towson will be playing its sixth-ever game against an NCAA FBS program when the Tigers kickoff at LSU.
7) When Derrick Joseph had a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against St. Francis, it marked the seventh time in school history that a Tiger returned a kickoff for a TD.
8) Tiger place kicker D.J. Soven ranks eighth among Colonial Athletic Association kickers with 21 points scored. He has made all three field goal attempts and all ten conversion tries.
9) Led by Romale Tucker's three sacks, Towson has had nine quarterback sacks in three games this season.
10) With 1,545 career rushing yards, sophomore Terrance West needs only 74 yards to move into 10th place on Towson's all-time rushing list.
