TOWSON, Md. – The Tiger volleyball team wraps up its five-match road swing with a non-conference contest at Navy on Tuesday, Oct. 22. First serve from the Fieldhouse on the Naval Academy campus is set for 7 p.m.
Tuesday's contest will be the 47th overall and first of two this season between the Tigers and the Midshipmen. Navy leads the all-time series 24-22. However this will be the first meeting since 2009 when Towson claimed a 3-0 win in the Battle of Baltimore.
Towson (6-19) will be looking to bounce back from a pair of tough CAA losses over the weekend. The Tigers are led by junior Saitaua Iosia who has 269 kills, 211 digs and 24 service aces. Fellow junior Victoria Williams has contributed 199 kills and 56 blocks. Tiger co-captain Paige Sekerak leads the defensive efforts with 349 digs while freshman Lindsay Flaherty has a team-high 85 blocks.
Navy (8-11) comes into Tuesday's match looking to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to American on Friday. Erin Fortner leads the Mids with 221 kills, 167 digs and 17 service aces. Alex Karika has dished out 605 assists while Alli Graf has posted 282 digs.
Following Tuesday's match, the Tigers are back in action on Friday, Oct. 25 when they open up a two-match homestand. Towson hosts William & Mary in SECU Arena at 7 p.m.
