Brooke Brungart,
Megan Neal and
Alessandra Cascarano have been named team captains for the Towson University cheerleading squad, Head Coach
Edy Pratt announced.
Brungart is a senior from Severna Park, Maryland. She is a four-year member of the squad who played a key role in the Tigers winning the 2013 NCA National Collegiate Championship in Daytona Beach. Brungart has been a large part of the Tigers' success over the last three years. She has been a cheerleader since she was seven years old and achieved top-five finishes at the Cheerleading World Championships with the Maryland Marlins Tsunami. When not involved with cheerleading, Brungart volunteers at Happy Helpers for the Homeless in Baltimore. She will earn her Bachelor's of Science degree in communications in May and wants to pursue a career in public relations.
Neal is a junior from Bel Air, Maryland. She is a three-year member of the team who helped the Tigers win the NCA National Championship as a freshman. Neal has been a competitive cheerleader since she was six years old. While a member of the Maryland Vipers, she had a top-10 finish at the cheerleading worlds. In addition to her cheerleading duties, Neal volunteers at various organizations like "Adopt a Road" and her local church. She is a currently working on a Bachelor's of Science degree in healthcare management and business administration.
Cascarano is a senior from New Jersey. She was a key component in the Tigers' win at the NCA National Championship in 2013. Cascarano has been cheering since she was in second grade. She has also taken the time to volunteer as a coach for various youth cheerleading teams. Cascarano is an elementary education major who will graduate in May. Her degree will provide her a certificate to teach grades one through five, and she hopes to work in a second grade classroom. She plans to pursue a masters in special education after graduation.
