Mackenzie Rice, the Towson women's golf moved up a spot during the second round to finish fourth at the Third Annual St. John's Women's Intercollegiate, which concluded on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers cut 18 strokes off their first round score to finish with a 636 (327-309). Seton Hall won the event with a 614, while Rutgers (629) and Long Island (634) were the only other teams in the 12-team field to finish ahead of Towson.
Spiess carded her best 36-hole score of the season with a 151 (75-76) to finish tied for third among the 68-player field. Rice posted the best round for the Tigers on Tuesday with a 75 to finish tied for sixth overall with a 155 (80-75).

Krissy Unger (84-83=167), junior
Emma Hjarne (88-79=167) and freshman
Alexis Hios (88-79=167) each improved their scores during the second round of play and finished with identical 36-hole scores to place in a tie for 26th.
Seton Hall's Cassie Pantelas claimed medalist honors with a 143 (74-79).
The Tigers will conclude their fall slate on October 25 when they travel to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to compete in the University of Delaware Invitational.
