Kuranga Leads Towson After Day One of Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Towson University women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Nittany Lion Invitational on Sunday. The Tigers currently sit in 14th place after rounds of 316 (+28) and 304 (+16), bringing the team's total to 620 (+44).

Yale currently leads the field with a two-round score of 581 (+5), followed by Penn State at 584 (+8). Maryland rounds out the podium in third with a score of 590 (+14).

Victoriah Kuranga leads the Tigers after the first day of tournament play tied for 15th place after posting consistent rounds of 74 (+2) and 73 (+1). Kuranga also leads Towson with six birdies through the first two rounds.

Grace Oristian sits tied for 52nd place after shooting 78 (+6) in both rounds.

Kanchana Kanchanaphiboon and Luciana Calbimonte are both tied for 70th place after the first two rounds. Kanchanaphiboon shot 81 (+9) in the first round followed by an improved 78 (+6) in the second round. Calbimonte posted an 83 (+11) in the first round and a 76 (+4) in the second round, supported by four birdies.

Payton Balliet rounds out Towson's efforts after the first day, sitting tied for 81st place after recording rounds of 88 (+16) and 77 (+5).
