SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Towson women's golf wrapped up the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships in eighth place with a three-round score of +103.
Kanchana Kanchanaphiboon,
Luciana Calbimonte and
Grace Oristian tied for the best performance by a Tiger in 27th place at 29-over par.
Kanchanaphiboon carded nine-over par for the second consecutive round in round three. In her second and third rounds, she had two birdies. She birdied hole 17 both times.
Calbimonte carded her best round in the second round at seven-over par. She shot 10-over par in the third round with birdies on holes three and 17.
Oristian opened play with a five-over par first round, her best of the tournament. She carded a 13-over par third round, joining Kanchanaphiboon and Calbimonte with birdies on hole 17.
Payton Balliet turned in her tournament-best round in the second round at seven-over par. She turned in a score of +16 in the third round to finish at 31-over par.
Kalyn Doss came on as a sub in the third round, scoring 12-over par with a birdie on hole nine.
Charleston came away with the team win. UNCW led after rounds one and two but standout third round performances by Emilie von Finckenstein, who shot even-par, and Molly Hardwick, the No. 103 player in the country who shot one-over par, carried the Cougars to the team title after gaining four strokes on their northerly rivals in the third round.
The Seahawks continued to pace the individual leaderboard with Victoria Levy taking home the individual crown after retaking the top spot that she relinquished to teammate Minouche Rooijmans. Levy shot even par for the tournament.
