Women's Golf in Sixth Place After Day One at CAA Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Towson women's golf sits in sixth place after the first round of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Golf Championship. Grace Oristian leads all Tigers in 18th place with a five-over par performance in the first round.

Oristian carded the low round for the Tigers with birdies on holes five and 17. Oristian parred the first four holes of the back nine.

Payton Balliet turned in the second lowest score for the Tigers at +8. She was tied for 10th among all players on par fives at one-under par.

Victoriah Kuranga scored nine-over par, in part due to her scores on the three par threes. Kuranga birdied the second par three on the course, hole six, to shoot one-under par on par threes, the second best score of any golfer.

Kanchana Kanchanaphiboon rounds out the Towson scorers on the day at 11-over par. She parred five holes on both the front and back nine.

Luciana Calbimonte finished her day with a birdie on hole 17 but turned in a 12-over score in the first round.

UNCW leads the field at four-over par, with three golfers in the top 10. The individual leader, Victoria Levy, is a Seahawk. She shot three-under par in the first round.
