Tiger Alum Dixon Honored by Lake Placid Lacrosse

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Towson Lacrosse alum Lindsay Dixon '92 was named to the Silver Anniversary Team by the Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse tournament during the 2014 tournament, which takes place from Aug. 4-10.

This class will be introduced at Mid's Park on Main Street in Lake Placid on Saturday, Aug. 9, in an evening event that is free to the public. Lake Placid Lacrosse, the entity that conducts the week-long festival, also announced that additional Legends will be inducted annually beginning in 2015.
Dixon was a three-year starter at midfield for the Tigers and led Towson to the NCAA Tournament in 1991 and 1992, reaching the championship game in 1991. He earned third team All-America honors in 1992 and finished his career with 65 goals and 49 assists - one of the highest-scoring middies ever to play for the Tigers. He was inducted into Towson's Hall of Fame in 2002.

The tourney, held at the North Elba Show Grounds on Route 73, now features 250 teams, men and women, from scholastic divisions to adult and masters brackets. A total of 550 games will be contested over the week. This is in stark contrast to the inaugural event in 1990 that saw seven teams play a total of 14 games.

Silver Anniversary men's and women's all-star teams will be announced, as well as Silver Anniversary teams of distinction.

Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse is partnering with Wounded Warrior Project to raise awareness and funding for its programs.

The tournament is sponsored by Samuel Adams Brewery, Warrior Lacrosse and Dick's Sporting Goods.
