TOWSON, Md. – Coming off a stellar 2013-14 season by both the Towson University women's and men's swimming and diving teams, Head Coach
Pat Mead has released a challenging 2014-15 schedule.
The Tiger women's team won its second straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship and sixth in the last seven years in 2013-14. The Tiger men's team posted 11 wins and finished third at the CAA Championship, their best ever finish in that event.
"We are excited about the upcoming season," said Mead. "We have some great additions to the schedule which will provide both teams an opportunity to compete and prepare for CAA's in February."Â
Towson hits the pool for the first time on September 13 when it hosts its annual alumni meet.
The first official meet of the season comes on October 3 at the Potomac Relays hosted by American University.
The Tigers welcome William & Mary and Georgetown to Burdick Pool on October 11 for a meet. Towson is on the road for its next two meets, October 25 at Old Dominion and October 31 and November 1 at George Mason. The George Mason meet will feature the Patriots, Northeastern and College of Charleston along with the Tigers.
Towson returns home on November 8 to host George Washington. The Tigers close out the month of November by taking part in the Bucknell Invite, which runs November 21-23.
The Tigers will be off for the month of December with the exception of select swimmers who will travel to North Carolina to participate in the US Winter Nationals, December 4-6.
January kicks off with the Tiger divers taking part in the Tennessee Diving Invite January 2-3. Towson returns home to host McDaniel on January 10 before traveling to Delaware on January 17.
Towson has its final home meet of the season on January 24 when it hosts Johns Hopkins.
The Tigers will make their second trip of the season to Bucknell on January 31. Towson will be joined by the Bison, Navy, Lehigh, Lafayette and Army at the event.
Towson heads to the Virginia Tech Invite, which runs February 7-9.
The CAA swimming and diving championship will be split into two events this year. The CAA Diving Championship will be February 21-22 at Delaware. The swimming portion of the championship will be February 25-28 at the Greater Richmond Aquatic Partnership.
The NCAA Diving Zones will be March 8-10 at Rutgers. The NCAA women's swimming championship will be March 19-21 in Greensboro, N.C. The NCAA men's swimming championship is March 26-28 in Iowa City, Iowa.
