BOX SCORE TOWSON, Md. - Sophomore
Megan Boyle recorded nine saves but it was not enough as the Towson Tiger field hockey team (2-6) fell to La Salle (4-4) by a score of 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
La Salle's
Devin Muracco scored in the 28th minute from a pass by
Sophie Lozowski to give the Explorers a 1-0 lead in the first half.Â
Boyle had five first-half saves as the Explorers outshot the Tigers 10-4.
Colleen Kempf scored for La Salle in the 67th minute off of a rebound after a flurry in front of the Towson goal.
The Explorers continued to outshoot the Tigers 9-2 in the second half to finish the game with a 19-6 advantage.
Boyle recorded four second-half saves to finish the game with nine saves. La Salle's
Rachel Hartman recorded two saves to earn the win.
Sophomore
Sam Zelenack and senior
Kelly Mattingly led the Tigers in shots with two apiece. Towson also saw shots by senior
Kelsey Fielder and freshman
Taylor Kvilhaug.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, October 3 as they travel to William & Mary to face the Tribe at 6 p.m.
