Women's Swimming Opens Dual Meet Season At William & Mary

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson women's swimming and diving program begins its Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title defense when the Tigers open the dual meet season at William & Mary. The meet scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, will be held at the Recreation Center.

Towson is currently ranked 14th in the CollegeSwimming.com's Division I Team Power Rankings. The Tigers are second in the Mid-Major Rankings, behind Florida Gulf Coast.

The Tigers have impressed so far this season, starting the season with a third-place finish at the All-Florida Invitational (Sept. 18-20) before winning the Potomac Relays last weekend. The Tigers had 12 top-five finishes at the All-Florida Invitational. At the Potomac Relays, Towson tallied two event victories and placed in the top-three for five other events.

Senior Molly Arceri earned CAA Diver of the Week accolades after winning the three-meter event and posting the second-best score in the one-meter event at the Potomac Relays. She also placed fourth in the one-meter event and seventh in the three-meter event at the All-Florida Invitational.

Towson defeated William & Mary 167-127 in dual meet action last season. The Tigers' trio of seniors Charlotte Holz and Jenna Van Camp and junior Macey Arnold combined for seven event victories at that meet. Holz won the 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley. Van Camp earned first-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard breaststrokes while Arnold dominated the distance events, winning the 500 and 1000-yard freestyles.

The Tigers continue their dual meet season on Oct. 17 when they travel to Georgetown for a 1 p.m. meet.
