Dominique Johnson scored a team-high 16 points as the Towson University women's basketball team fell at Georgetown University, 82-46 on Wednesday afternoon. The loss spoiled the return of Towson Head Coach
Niki Reid Geckeler to her alma mater.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The two teams battled early as junior guard Raven Bankston's lay-up at 8:25 made it a 4-2 game in favor of the home team.
- A 14-3 run midway through the first quarter allowed Georgetown to open up an 18-5 lead.
- Georgetown drained five three-pointers in the second quarter to maintain its advantage in the game.
- Towson was 9-for-10 from the foul line in the second quarter. Freshman guard AJ Timbers was 3-for-4 from the line during that 10 minute span.
- Georgetown shot 47.1% from the field in the first half and held a 42-19 advantage at the break. Towson shot 16% from the field in the first half.
- The two teams continued to battle in the second half but Towson could not overcome the 23-point halftime deficit and eventually fell 82-46.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE- Reid Geckeler returned to her alma mater for the first time as a visitor. She was a four-year starter for the Hoyas who then served two stints as an assistant coach on the Hilltop.
- Johnson finished with 16 points and six rebounds for the Tigers. She was 8-for-8 from the foul line tying her season-high and has now made 14 straight from the foul line.
- Freshman guard Sianni Martin was the second Tiger in double figures as she finished with 12 points and two steals.
- Redshirt sophomore forward Jordyn Smith led the Tigers on the glass with eight rebounds.
- Towson shot just 20.8% from the field in the game while Georgetown posted a shooting percentage of 40%.
- Dorothy Adomako led Georgetown with 19 points and eight rebounds.
The Tigers wrap up non-conference action when they host UMKC on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 4 p.m. in SECU Arena.
