TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team will travel to FBS foe East Carolina to open the season and host rivals James Madison, Villanova and Delaware as part of its 11-game 2015 schedule.
"I'm really excited about the make-up of our 2015 schedule," said Towson Head Coach
Rob Ambrose. "We have a great challenge right off the bat and then we host many of our biggest rivals at Unitas Stadium in front of our fans. I know our guys are really looking forward to getting to work."
The Tigers will play six home games inside Johnny Unitas® Stadium in 2015, including two of three non-conference contests and four Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) games.
The 2015 season opens on September 5 as the Tigers travel to East Carolina. The Pirates went 8-5 in 2014, falling to Florida, 28-20, in the Birmingham Bowl.
Towson will host its final two non-conference games, matchups with St. Francis (Pa.) on September 12 and Holy Cross on September 19.
The Tigers begin CAA play at Elon on September 26. After its bye week, Towson will play three of its next four games at home. The Tigers host James Madison on October 10 and after traveling to Stony Brook on October 17, they'll play back-to-back home games against Villanova (October 24) and Delaware (October 31).
Towson will start the month of November on the road at Maine (November 7) and at William & Mary (November 14) before hosting Rhode Island to close the regular season on November 21.
