TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis team closes out the regular season when it hosts Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival Drexel on Saturday, April 11 at 12 noon. The match will serve as the Tigers' Senior Day and the team will recognize seniors Ayana Dow and Cailey Easdale prior to the start.
 
Towson enters this weekend with an 11-8 overall record and is 2-2 in CAA play. The Tigers who have won three straight are coming off a 5-2 win over conference foe Delaware on Monday. The win against the Blue Hens was just the third victory in program history and the first since 1992.
 
Freshman Nicole Shakhnazarova earned her 17th dual meet win against the Blue Hens to improve to 3-1 in conference play. She leads the Tigers with a 22-2 overall singles record and has won six straight.
 
Dow has a 4-2 singles record this season and is riding a three-match win streak coming into her final match on the Towson Center Tennis Courts. This season she has partnered for five doubles wins. Her career record includes 28 singles wins and 26 doubles victories.
 
Easdale who has served as the Tigers' captain this season, is 4-3 in singles play and 13-10 for doubles matches. She has an impressive 17-13 career singles record and has tallied 35 doubles wins over her career.
 
Drexel is 14-1 on the season and 1-0 against conference opponents. The Dragons recently defeated Hofstra to tie the program's high for most wins in a season. Clary Rodriguez Cruz has a team-high 16 wins this season. Cruz has partnered with Nicole Pivonka for a team-best 16-4 doubles record.
 
Towson will travel next to the CAA Tournament at William & Mary from April 16-19.
