WALLACE, N.C. – Junior
Larissa Spiess fired a 71 (-1), matching the second best round in program history, to lead the Towson women's golf team on the final day of the 2015 River Landing Classic on Sunday afternoon.
Spiess' stellar play allowed the Tigers to climb two spots on the team leaderboard to finish tied for ninth in the 12-team field with a 54-hole score of 927 (313-307-307).
"We had a solid finish today with so many great things going on," said Towson Head Coach
Kate Schanuel. "We are taking care of the details and sticking with the game plan. I feel that we are picking up where we left off from the fall and will clean up a few things over the next few days to be ready for CAA's.
"It always helps when you count a score in the red. I'm happy for Larissa as she has worked really hard on her mental and physical game. Good things will continue to come and we just need to be patient."
Spiess carded a 54-hole score of 228 (76-81-71) to finish tied for 21st in the 68-player field.
